Tony Hendry and Peter Bristol combined brilliantly to claim the Don Smith Memorial 18 hole medley two ball stableford sponsored by Parkes Readymixed Concrete at Parkes Golf Club last Saturday.

Hendry and Bristol scored a very good 46 points, winning the memorial by two points from John Pearce and Rod Luyt, Kaye Jones and Lynne Guise, and Ken Keith and Duncan Constable, who all finished on 44 points.
Next best were Peter Boschman and Tony Evans, Phil Bishop and Chris Goodie, and Lorraine Maxwell and Adrianne Brown, all on 43 points.
David Jones and Andrew Huntly, Dub Rodgers and Laurie Wakefield, Colleen Flynn and Anita Medcalf, and Mick DellaCa and Brian Hogan Jnr were all next with 42 points.
Duncan Constable’s 42 points were enough to win the individual event.
Mens nearest the pins saw Peter Bristol finish closest on the Idlrite-Tyrepower 1st hole at 761cm.
Duncan Constable was closest on the Griffins Leading Edge 4th hole at 152cm while Mick DellaCa took out the money hole prize at 426cm.
Bernie McCabe was very close to the flag on the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole, finishing only 185cm away.
Paul Thomas hit his tee shot on the Harvey Norman 11th hole to 386cm to claim that prize while Dave Jones was closest on the Westlime 15th, putting for birdie from 661cm away.
Andrew Brownlow’s approach to the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole was closest at 111cm.
Marty Woods was closest on the PJL Group 18th.
In the ladies nearest the pins, Lynne Guise was closest on the 1st and 6th holes (sponsored by Lyn Rogan and Telescope Tyres respectively), Cath Kelly on the 4th (Parkes Pharmacy), Judy McCabe on the 11th (Parkes Services Club), and Margaret Hogan on the 15th (Railway Hotel).
This weekend, Parkes Golf Club members will compete in the Foursomes Club Championships.
Dixon Physiotherapy sponsor the mens event played this Saturday and Sunday.
John Green and Peter Dixon will be hoping to defend their title from last year.
The pair will find tough competition from some quality pairings including Justin Sutton and Joe van Opynen, and Mark Kelly and Tom Casey.
On Saturday, Parkes lady golfers will compete in the sixth Golf NSW and Club Medal sponsored by Central West Glass.
On Sunday, the ladies will play their foursomes championship with handicap events sponsored by Parkes Betta Home Living and Network Video.
Tomorrow the lady golfers will play an 18 hole stableford sponsored by Body Express.
