Russell and Jennifer Jones’ annual ram sale will be held on Friday September 8.
“We have 150 rams for sale this year,” Jennifer said.
“The proceeds from the sale of one of them will go to the McGrath Foundation.”
The 16-month-old poll merino ram, tagged 841 and testing at 19.6 microns will have the honour of being auctioned for the foundation.
“His father is a full embryo transfer brother to Willandra Desmond who was the top poll ram in Australia three years ago,” Jennifer said.
“We hope he attracts a lot of interest in support of the McGrath Foundation.
“A couple of Trundle women have been affected by breast cancer and had amazing support from their McGrath Breast Care Nurse.”
Carolyn Keep was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago.
“Today, I am cancer free,” she said.
“Russell and Jen are doing an amazing thing, I had my own McGrath Breast Care Nurse and I believe everyone suffering with breast cancer should have access to one.”
Carolyn said Lachlan Health Service McGrath Breast Care Nurse Di Green was with her straight away after her diagnosis.
“Telling my four boys was the hardest thing,” she said.
“Di was there to help me deal with it all, she helped me know what to expect.
“Even today she is still a part of my life and always will be.”
