The issue was identified following investigations by Forbes Shire Council staff on Saturday morning.
NSW Health was consulted and the incident deemed low risk, Council said in a press release.
Bogan Gate and Trundle in the Parkes Shire, who are connected to the Forbes Water Treatment Plant, were also not at risk.
As a precautionary measure additional main flushing and water testing was conducted, as is standard practice when a potential issue is identified.
“Testing results indicated that water quality was within guidelines at all times,” Forbes Shire Council General Manager Danny Green said.
“I’d like to thank staff for their rapid response.
“All Forbes residents should rest assured that a safe and secure water supply is amongst Forbes Shire Council’s top priorities.”
