A pair of unique saddles were among property stolen from a locked storage shed at the Parkes Racecourse between 6am on Thursday and 7am on Friday.

Unknown persons forced the lock on the shed and stole two Syd Hill Barque Poley stock saddles valued at $3000 each, three racing pad saddles and 10 bridles and bits.

A 26-year-old Parkes man was refused bail after a pursuit on Friday afternoon.
While patrolling Clarinda Street in an unmarked car, police were overtaken at excessive speed by the driver of a white Holden Commodore at 4.50pm.
Police attempted to stop the driver after he turned into East Street.
He failed to stop and police pursued him through Woodward, Park, and Medlyn Streets.
Police estimate the driver reached speeds in excess of 140km.
The chase was terminated as he approached Middleton School.
The driver continued on Park Street before parking the car and fleeing on foot.
Police located him a short time later.
He was charged with drive in a manner dangerous; police pursuit, not stop, drive dangerously, two counts of drive while disqualified; and an outstanding warrant.
He was refused bail to appear in Dubbo Local Court on Monday.

A 27-year-old Brazilian man will face court after being caught drink driving early on Sunday morning.
After receiving information relating to a suspected intoxicated driver, police stopped a vehicle in Clarinda Street at 12.30am.
The driver failed a roadside breath test, was arrested and taken to Parkes Police Station for a breath analysis which returned a mid range result.
He will appear in Parkes Local Court on August 21.

Two steal from motor vehicle offences occurred overnight on Friday in Alluvial and Close Streets.
Wallets were stolen from a Ford Ranger in Alluvial Street and a Hyundai in Close Street.
Both wallets were recovered short distances away. $35 in cash was taken from one.
