On the weekend of the 24th June, 2017 I was treated to the most amazing party anyone could wish for for my 80th birthday.
I would like to thank everyone who travelled from far and wide to attend, relatives and friends, it was a wonderful surprise to see so many.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Above all I want to thank my children, who went above and beyond anything I ever dreamed.
Words cannot describe how much I appreciate the trouble you must have gone to to get so many people for my wonderful day.
Thank you, thank you all. Love you all always.
Mum and nan, Julie Harris
A day of hope for a cancer-free future
Daffodil Day, a national day of hope for a cancer-free future, takes place on Friday, August 25 this year.
People across the region are encouraged to support the event by volunteering, buying merchandise or making a donation.
This year marks 31 years of Daffodil Day in NSW.
As one of the largest national fundraising event in the Southern Hemisphere, this year Cancer Council hopes to raise $2.1 million in NSW.
In the Western NSW region alone, it is estimated that approximately 1864 people will be diagnosed with cancer in a single year.
By supporting Cancer Council NSW this Daffodil Day, people will be helping to beat cancer by funding vital cancer research, support services, prevention programs and advocacy campaigns.
This year’s theme is “For Someone I Know” – by showing support for someone you know, you can help beat cancer and create a better, cancer-free future for all.
