A return to form for former Parkes Golf Club Champion Justin Sutton saw him secure the A grade scratch award at last Saturday’s Scott and Kath Mann Floor Cleaning August monthly medal sponsored by Brian Collins Smash Repairs.

Sutton shot a one over par 72 to take out the premier event while Ken Cobcroft continued on from his win in the scratch shootout to claim the A grade handicap division with 72 nett via a countback.
Sutton’s putting was a feature of his round, only using the flat stick 24 times to also win the Griffins Leading Edge putting competition.
Laurie Wakefield won the B grade scratch via a countback with 86 off the stick, while Ron Hetherington’s 72 nett won the handicap event in the same grade.
Another countback was needed to sort the C grade scratch winner with Ross Smith winning out after shooting 93.
Rod Luyt shot the best handicap score of the day to win C grade with 69 nett.
Ball winners went to 75 nett.
Troy Thomson started his day off in fine fettle when he was nearest the pin on the Idlerite-Tyrepower 1st hole at 392cm.
Greg Powter won the money hole and the two balls on offer when his tee shot on the Griffins leading Edge 4th hole finished 264cm from the flag.
Sam turner was closest on the Dirt Doctor Landscaping 6th hole at 340cm while John pearce hit a good shot into the Harvey Norman 11th hole to finish 384cm away from the pin.
Ken Cobcroft gave himself a good look at birdie on the Westlime 15th when he his tee shot finished 510cm from the cup.
Steve Edmunds picked up four balls when his approach to the Parkes Readymixed Concrete 9th hole finished closest at 558cm, the prize jackpotting from last week.
Mitch McGlashan claimed the last prize on the PJL Group 18th hole, hitting his approach to 160cm.
Entries open for Parkes tournament
Entries for the SCT Logisitics Parkes Open tournament are now open.
The very popular event will be held on the weekend of September 16-17.
Members are encouraged to get their entries in early as places in the field will likely fill up fast.
Positions are available for both the Atlas Copco fourball event on Saturday, September 16, and the SCT Parkes Open on Sunday, September 17.
Entries close at 5pm on Friday, September 1st.
