A ninth hockey player from Parkes has officially been named on a 2017 NSW masters squad.

Darryn Tanswell – who was initially selected as a shadow player for the NSW men’s over 40s team at the beginning of the month – has now been called up to play.
He will join the side with fellow Parkes players Ian Westcott and Aaron Huppatz.
NSW Mens Masters Hockey Secretary Glenn Crowhurst confirmed Tanswell’s selection on July 6.
“I can confirm that Darryn Tanswell has been called up to play in the 40/2 team to play in the nationals,” he said.
Tanswell will head to the Hockey Australia Men’s Masters Championships in Hobart in September-October.
While the women will play in the Women’s Masters Championships at Newcastle during the same period.
The remaining Parkes players who were selected to represent NSW are Denise Gersbach, Amy Thornberry, Matt Searl, Laurie Wakefield, Jane Mattiske and Maureen Massey.
