Second Grade
Forbes Platypi turned up in force to Parkes and were far too good for the Boars taking out the game 53-0.
Against a well drilled team the Boars individual efforts could not hold out the Platypi set plays.
Rusiate Lawanikula, Bobbi Waititi and Jason Lowe, in the forwards, tackled relentlessly and were outstanding at containing the Platypi tight five.
Anthony Stewart covered well in defence and put in his usual solid game.
As the Platypi found it tough in the forwards they swung their attack wide and were able to find some holes until Brad Burrell, James Sellings and Kyle Ward stepped up and defended the centres making tackle after tackle.
The return of the master Kev Oliver and a great game by Pat Jones did their best to stem the flow but was not enough to close down the Forbes attack.
Richard Webb and Karl Oliver were busy around the rucks and went on the attack when the limited chances came.
The Boars played out a solid game and should be proud of their individual effort.
Best players for Boars were Brad Burrell (Players Player), Karl Oliver and Kev Oliver.
Colts
Parkes Boars Colts played the best game of their season to beat a strong Platypi team.
The first half was an arm wrestle with a try each to see the score tied up at five all at the break.
Parkes front row of Jarrod Westcott, Aron Peters and Jason Lowe were terrific against the big Forbes forwards.
Mackenzie Green and Ethan Peters defended.
The Boars attacked through Steve Tautua, Liam Pope and Bobbi Waititi, repeatedly getting through the Platypi defence to get field position and setting up scoring opportunities.
Pat Jones continued his solid year with several try saving tackles but also running the ball back out of defence to take the sting out of the Forbes attack.
Parkes had a gutsy second half and tries to Jarrod Westcott, Steve Tautua, James Sellings and Bobbi Watiti saw the Boars convincingly outscore beat the Platypi after the break for a final score Parkes 24 Forbes 10.
Best Players for Parkes were Pat Jones, Brad Burrell and Jonah Ruzgus.
Players player was Joason Lowe.
