Played in bitterly cold conditions at Canberra, the Brumbies led early before the Cockatoos found their feet and got better as the match went in a 50-34 win.
Parkes Boars gun Ryan was a standout at lock and made big metres through the middle all match as the Cockatoos building on its opening 40-7 win over NSW Suburban Rugby Union earlier in the month.
“Whilst the Country boys are playing a hard and fast-free flowing style of rugby, it’s the extra effort being put in … that has all involved happy that the weekend was a success,” winning coach Mat Thomas said.
The Cockatoos next play Queensland Country at Newcastle on July 1.
