Ron Cunningham 246, 237, 485
John Davis 246, 230,476
One shot for practice only. Our next shoot is at 10am Sunday, May 28. There will be two new targets and you will need at least 90 bullets for both ranges. Despite the predicted bad weather over the weekend, beautiful conditions were had at sporting clays on the Saturday with 16 shooters attending. This weather continued over to Sunday for shooting at Smallbore. Our club has been lucky enough to snag a safe shooting grant from the department of sport and rec to be spent on eye brow baffling. The 50m shootings bays to comply with the requirements of the firearms registry and we will need a lot of help to construct and install them.
Trundle Footy
The Youth Boomers are having a party!! Yesterday we hosted Manildra in all three grades with our Youth Boomers winning their fifth in a row. Currently undefeated the Youth Boomers attacked well with their big boys being too powerful and running through the line to score tries. The Youth Boomers bring a fantastic vibe to the club and are really enjoying playing footy at the moment. They are proudly sitting on top of the ladder. Final score Trundle 30 Manildra 14
The Sunflowers League Tag played their best game by far this year. Positive in attack they were first to get points on the board. Their defense was outstanding and they were able to keep Manildra out for the first 25minutes. The half time score was Trundle 6 Manildra 4. The second half was as exciting as the first with Trundle passing the ball and trying to get over that white line again. Unfortunately as fatigue set it, Manildra were too fast to keep out. The final score was Manildra 16 Trundle 6. The Sunflowers were proud of their efforts and are definitely playing as a team again.
The Boomers started strong, matching Manildra's early try with one of their own under the posts. With a huge crowd supporting both clubs the attack from both teams was impressive, opening up each others defense well. The Boomers just couldn't hold in the second half as momentum swung Manildra's way. They didn't give up but they just couldn't do enough in attack to get through Manildra's defensive line. Final score Manildra 28 Trundle 22
Round 8 Sunday, May 28 at Canowindra. Canowindra versus Trundle. 11.20am Youth League, 12.40pm League Tag and 2pm First Grade.
