Trundle Community Day Centre: Thanks to a hard working group of volunteers, the Trundle Community Day Centre is operating on Fridays from 10am to 12 midday at the Trundle Golf Club. A wonderful group of ladies and gentlemen meet on a Friday to socialise, play cards, listen to school children, play boardgames etc. We even have some wonderful knitters knitting squares for “Wrap with Love”. The day centre is to provide social networking and activities for our community members who are welcome to join us. Morning tea is provided for a gold coin donation. Activities for May 26 have been transferred to the Trundle Hotel to enable us to attend “The Biggest Morning Tea”. We look forward to seeing you at the Trundle Community Day Centre.

Bingo! Don’t forget the Tullamore Bingo on June 5 starting at 10.30am. Hopefully it will be at the club but more information closer to the date.
Tullamore Biggest Morning Tea: The Biggest Morning Tea was held at the CWA room on May 22. Thanks to everyone who came along and had a lovely cuppa and nice cakes. Thanks to everyone who donated lucky door prizes. About $400 was raised for cancer. Raffle winners were Jenny Harris, June Rodgers, Bev Rees, Judy Harper and Pat Turner.
Lunch at Tullamore: Chris Kelly, Robin Blunden and Pat Alliston travelled from Trundle to Tullamore to meet with Sue Williams from Fifield to have lunch together. It was a lovely meal at Casho’s Tullamore and there was lots of laughs and gossip. I would definitely recommend Casho’s for a meal.
Trundle Biggest Morning Tea: Held at Trundle Hotel today May 26 at 10am. Everyone welcome.
Walk 4 Christ: Father Brian Schmalkuche, Anglican Priest in charge of Diocese of Bathurst’s Parish of Trundle is making preparations to take a walk on the wild side. His fourth annual Walk 4 Christ will start at St Luke’s Anglican Church, Bogan Gate, on Tuesday, May 30, at 9am. Brian expects to walk the 131km from Bogan Gate, via Fifield, to Albert by about 5pm on Friday evening, June 2. Brian said he is constantly asked why he does this walk across his Parish. “There are many reasons,” he said. “The first and most important is about the current financial position of our Western Parishes. The walk is to prove that even if I cannot afford the petrol to make it to the outer centres I can still turn up, albeit it on foot, to bring God’s people in those villages the Word and Sacrament.”
Brian said his belief is that God specifically called him to the Trundle Parish encompassing Bogan Gate, Trundle, Fifield, Tullamore and Albert to take the Word and Sacrament to his people. Brian encourages Christians to walk with him for a distance or a time so that he can pray for them, their families and their businesses. He also endeavours to pray for the families and their properties as he walks by and also hopes he will have the time to pop notes of encouragement in to mailboxes as he passes. To sponsor Father Brian or contribute financially to the Trundle Anglican Parish ministry, send donations to Trundle Anglican Church, PO Box 51, Trundle, NSW, 2875.
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Parkes Musical and Dramatic Society Oh! Congratulations is so inadequate for this fabulous show. This production had once again the touch of Lyn Townsend and Neil Westcott, well done guys! It also has amazingly happy and joyous music well done, “The Band”, the most fantastic costumes – brilliant! Choreography - well done the two Graces! Anyone who can walk away having seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang without a smile on their face and spring in their step has definitely got something wrong with them! Even the sinister Goran and Olga were fabulous, funny and light hearted. The whole production was so good I cannot find the superlatives to describe it.
Many years ago, when I joined M & D, I can so well remember constantly talking about encouraging children to join and picking productions that required children in the cast. Last Friday I sat there in row “G” enjoying every moment of the show and so proud of a Society that now boasts a veritable host of talented children and teenagers and that speaks of a Parkes Musical and Dramatic Society that will definitely have longevity.
