It was not the result the team was looking for when they ran out against CSU Mitchell at Bathurst.
Led by Captain coach Dyllan Phillips the team worked hard but with several regular players unavailable due to work and injury it was always going to be a challenge. The only score for the Boars in the first half was by Phillips who went over beside the posts. Cody Bruce added the extras.
CSU went to the break 22-7 up.
Enter the seasoned thirds. Nathan Baker, Brendan Guise, Blake Green and Dennis Webb all made an immediate impact on the game. Full back Pat Jones was a standout player as he used his speed and agility to pressure the CSU defence. Baker crossed after a strong all team effort to put CSU on notice. Bruce added the extras.
A highlight of the match saw Blake Green take a high ball then returned 60m through the defence only to be denied a try by 1m.
Unfortunately the team effort was not enough to hold back the rampaging students who sealed the match 47-14.
Best and fairest points: 3pts Blake Green, 2pts: Nathan baker, 1pt: Dyllan Phillips. Players Player: Pat Jones.

Brendan Guy ran on for his 100th senior club game. The team also saw the resurgence of Grant Coleman, after a few years in the wilderness - back into the front row.
Nathan Baker opened the Boars account in the first 5 minutes with a kick and chase. Brendan Bennett added the extras.
Chris Sellings was next to make a mark when he intercepted a very loose ball. A try was denied when the ball was deemed knocked on over the line. Despite this set back the Boars kept the ball within the 15m for the next 10 minutes. A penalty to the Boars for offside play gave Brendan Bennett a chance to add extras and he didn’t miss from right in front.
Right on the half time whistle CSU found a small gap and crossed out wide. The conversion was missed - Parkes went into the break with a slight 10-5 lead.
The second half started with a mid-field battle. Neither side could break away until a CSU player put the ball on his foot and sent it down to the 22m. Under the ball was the flying Full back Marika Korivoui - Marika ran the ball right back to set up a strong team attack. Off load to Mackenzie Green to Blake Green then wide to winger Napoleon Navulatula. Nap crossed out wide in a high diving try. The conversion missed but Boars took the match 15-5.
Best and fairest 3pts: Marika Korivoui, 2pts: Dennis Webb 1pt: Nathan Baker and Blake Green. Player’s player to Mackenzie Green.

More than half the regular team were unavailable for the trip to Bathurst but Coach Iszac Oliver had confidence his men would put in a strong show. With only 13 turn up to play CSU selected 2 of their players from a cast of 30 to fill the gaps for Parkes.
Captain Pat Jones led his squad with heart. Lock Campbell Earsman tackled strongly all game while the duo of half back Chris Sellings and Lock Jarrod Westcott keep the attack rolling.
The boars scrums were strong with the front three of Hooker- Jason Lowe and Props Alex McHugh-Douglas and Ryan McCracken keeping the pressure on the inform CSU pack.
James Sellings took several powerful runs thru the centre’s.
Unfortunately it was not the best day on the field for the young team with the score blowing out to 39-0.
