Di Howell, Minnie Riordan, Betsy Johnstone had a draw with Rosemary Mitchell, Margaret Hawken, Joan Simpson.
A game of Consistency was played between Merilyn Rodgers, Di Greenhalgh and Isobel Svendsen. A successful Trading Table was held with the winner of the Raffle, Margaret Hawken. Winners on the day were Hilda, Valmai and Gwenda.

Railway Men’s Bowls
Last Saturday the semi finals of the major singles match was played and what a match between Peter Creith and Shane Sharman who took out the match 31-30.
It was not until the 22 end that Shane hit the front taking the next four ends to lead 29-23.
To Peters credit, he won the next three ends to again lead 30-28 but Shane took three shots to win 31-30.
Congratulations to both players with Shane taking on the winner between brothers Steve and Brett Frame that will be two excellent matches.
Last Saturday 22 bowlers competed in Pennants practice with some important matches coming up.
Unfortunately all bowlers were unavailable but who turned up had a good day results of matches.
Dave Law, Brad Blanchard, Col Hornery and Terry Hetherington had a 21 all draw, with Tony Bloomfield Lea Tanks, Bernie Coleman and Ben McNaughton, Geoff Leonard, George Greenhalgh and Lee Hetherington defeated Peter Job, Matt McGrath and Ray Griffith 23-18.
Steve Nicholson, Graham Thomson and Tony Peisley were beaten by Ian Simpson, Graham Cole and Johnny Corcoran 27-23.
Wednesday winners Nev Currey and Col Boehm. Runners up Alan Affleck and Bernie Coleman. This week although a few away there will still be Pennants practice and social bowls on Saturday at 1pm and social bowls will return at 10am Sunday and quiet a few bowlers have asked to conduct Sunday Morning well here it is.
Events coming up a Prostate Cancer Bowlers Day will this year will be conducted at the Town club June 3 and members are asked to acquire a team to play on this day being a very important fund raiser.
Peter Jobs Presidents Day has been set down for the June 18 a sheet is on the board so lets celebrate Jobies day.
Visit the club tonight and take part in the raffles,badge draw ,Jackpot Joker and IGA hamper, Vincent's Chinese Restaurant is in full swing with Chinese , Malaysian Thai and Aussie Meals available.
Premier League Hockey
Parkes play important home game this Saturday. Parkes United premier league women have an important home game this weekend against Orange Ex-Services at 1.30pm.
Parkes have narrowly lost their first two matches by only one goal so it is vital that they get a result from this weekend’s match.
It will be the first weekend that the majority of the squad are available with the exception of Sami Afele. Ex-Services have found winning form in their opening matches of the season and will be tough opposition for the Parkes side.
Coach, Aaron Huppatz, has stressed the importance of maintaining possession leading into this match. “Our lack of possession let us down last weekend. The girls know we cannot afford cheap turnovers.”

On Sunday, May 15 The Parkes Services Social Golf Club played the first round of their 4.B.B.B.Championships for Sponsorship from Parkes Central Glass and Raffle supplied by Lyn Davison.
Wow! Age has not deterred some Golfers from playing the game of their lives.
Winners on the day were Bill (Rabbit) Warren 87 years Young, ably assisted by Tom Delmenico with an amazing 51 Points. 28 Points were scored on the front nine.
Where are you now Captain Chop. Runner Ups were Ian Phipps and Reg Davison with 47 points and third on C/B with 44 Points Marg and Brian Hogan. (Marriage made in Heaven).
Also in the running are Rob Rea and Ross Smith 44 points, Chris Stait and Phil Smith 44 Points and Rodney Luyt with Chris Goodie 43 points. Ladies Nearest the Pins Marg Hogan only result fourth.

Netball News
What a great start to our junior netball competition. Please make sure to check the paper and facebook each week.
Starting from next Friday, May 26 we will be running a group training session from 4:30pm– 5:30pm for all junior players. Basic skills and netball drills will be covered and it will be great to get most of our junior players there.

Parkes SSAA Sporting Clays
At last month’s shoot, six shooters attended the Deep Lead Shooting Complex and shot in an 80 target day with two events.
Event 1: 60 target event using 6 auto clay throwers set at various angles, heights and speeds.

Event 2: 20 targets, twin rise with one outwards and one inwards.

Our next shoot is at 1pm tomorrow and will be similar to the above.
Why not come along and try this new type of shotgunning, even if you are not a SSAA member, you don’t need an expensive shotgun, any sporting one will do.
We have 12 gauge ammo out at the range if you don’t have your own and we are restricted to No6 shot or smaller.
