The annual festival took place in the tiny town of 600 people on May 6.
A week prior, found on a shelf at Woolworths in Parkes, was a white quilt cover with a blue pattern – a pattern Liz Naveau thought would be ideal for an ABBA outfit.
And thanks to her 85-year-old mother-in-law from Parkes Val Naveau, Val designed three stunning long sleeve mini dresses, complete with blue lining and head bands.
“Yes, it’s a quilt cover,” Liz laughed.
“I was shopping in Woolies last week and I saw it and thought it’d make a great outfit,” she said on Saturday.
“I saw yesterday there were still some left in the shop.”
Even Liz’s husband – and Val’s son – Neil Naveau had a matching shirt.
Liz worked with Val on the Tuesday and Wednesday (May 2 and 3) before the festival to make the outfits.
To finalise their look, Liz and her friends – Cate Gardner and Debbie Smith, both of Singleton – borrowed their white boots from the Parkes Musical and Dramatic Society.
The quartet entered the Fashions of the Festival competition on Saturday.
