Incredible crowds for ABBA Festival

May 12 2017 - 5:30am

The streets of Trundle were full of caravans, motorhomes and cars on Friday as people started to arrive for the ABBA Festival on Saturday. Fortunately the weather stayed fine for them to get set up. Come Saturday, though, we were greeted with a few showers of rain, but this did not deter the thousands who attended the event. There were some changes to the timetable, the band played under shelter and the choir sang their beautiful songs under a shop awning. The showers didn’t last for long and the crowds kept coming. The train was late but that people still waited for it to arrive. The streets of Trundle were very busy as people walked up and down, looking at the stalls, buying food and sitting down with a cuppa at the tables and chairs in the middle of the street. Chairs had been set up at one end for the people to sit while listening to the band and choir and these were full. People were dressed as ABBA in all colours and wigs – it was wonderful to see how many were so into the day.
