Bedgerabong’s annual picnic race meeting is a great day out for all the family, and organisers are encouraging everyone to come along to the rescheduled event.

The extremely popular event was postponed from February, when the weather hit a scorching 47 degrees with hot winds.
Everything you love about the day has been shifted to this Saturday, with the forecast for a much more reasonable day weather-wise.
Gates open at 10am and entry is $15 per person, under 15-year-olds are free.
There’s lots of fun for everyone with entertainment for the kids including a free jumping castle.
The first race is on about 1.30pm, with the six-race program to conclude about 4.30pm. Racing has been moved forward to allow for the cooler weather and earlier sunset.
President Jimmy Rogers says the committee is looking forward to the different conditions the April date presents.
“The grounds look a picture after the cooler weather,” he said.
Footraces are held on the straight after the last races. There are categories for the kids, men’s, women’s and three-legged races with cash prizes to be won.
Marquee sites are available free of charge, however bookings are essential as space is limited. Please contact Tom Simmonds (ph 6857 2128) to book your spot.
The venue is strictly no BYO glass or alcohol, there is a full bar on site with a ticket system operating for speed and ease of service.
There is no ATM so don’t forget to bring cash. Local and interstate bookmakers will be on site on the day, with full TAB and tote.
Live band, Bathurst-based The Works, will take the entertainment into the evening.
After the conclusion of the races, there will be the traditional auction of Bedgerabong Race Day memorial shirts and the President’s tie.
If you haven’t been to Bedgerabong before, you head straight out the Bedgerabong Road (or North Condobolin Road) from Forbes.
Racing is at the showground, 32km from Forbes. But there’s no need to drive, as buses depart Town Hall regularly from midday to 2pm and will bring you back to town between 7pm and 10.30pm. $7 each way.
