The Peak Hill Can Assist branch, together with the Peak Hill community, have organised a charity golf day, with Michael leading the reins as coordinator.
It’s all to help meet the demand for much needed funds for the charity.
The event will be a three person ambrose at the Peak Hill Golf Club on Sunday, April 23, commencing at 10am.
There will be nearest the pins, longest drive, and prizes for the winners of the 18 and nine holes competitions.
Can you assist Can Assist to continue to assist?
- Michael C Lynch, coordinator.
There will be some novelty events like hit the target and funny golf sticks!
Also, available on the day will be a sausage sizzle, drink cart on the course, hundred club draw and a raffle.
Michael said the day is not about winning, but about having fun and helping to raise funds for a good cause.
While the major sponsor for the day is Northparkes Mines, the support and generosity from the Peak Hill community and some business houses in Parkes, Michael said, have been outstanding.
“It is indicative of the acknowledgement and work done by Can Assist,” he said.
“So can you assist Can Assist?”
How Can Assist does assist
Can Assist is a small organisation, set up in almost every town in Australia, that assists families with all kinds of cancer.
There are no questions asked and confidentiality is of the strictest code.
This organisation assists with travel, medical and accommodation costs.
They even help with the hidden and obscure costs.
Peak Hill Can Assist is one of those organisations that have been quietly going about doing what they only know best, assisting people with cancer.
It is a small organisation in a small country town, but with a very big heart.
While the community at Peak Hill are always generous, it is not always easy to raise the necessary funds to meet the demand.
