The funds will go towards the Life Education Van and its visits to Parkes Shire schools.
It’s a charity Parkes Shire Council and mayor Ken Keith, who is a board member for Life Education, have been a strong supporter of.
Four lanes of the Parkes Pool were reserved for the event with council teaming up with Northparkes Mines among the teams that took part.
Free entry into the pool for patrons was also granted for the day.
At the end of the swim-a-thon, which concluded at 4pm, Parkes Quota Club representatives Raelene Rout and Colleen Mitchell presented Cr Keith a cheque following everyone’s efforts.
