The Parkes Domino’s franchisee had just been recognised as one of the best in the country for leadership at the Domino’s Rally, the company’s annual conference.
The award is presented to franchisees who represent the best of the best, with outstanding leadership and operational successes.
It is highly sought-after within the Domino’s group, with only 11 handed out across the 700 stores in Australia and New Zealand each year.
Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight, said that it was William’s dedication to operational excellence and passion for pizza that is the key to his success.
“By motivating and challenging his team to do their best in every aspect of operations, William has ensured that his store is frequently on the list of top 10 stores for delivery every week,” Mr Knight said.
“This is a huge achievement, which couldn’t have been done without exceptional leadership from William and the team at Domino’s Parkes; they should be incredibly proud.”
William, who also owns Domino’s Wellington, said the award came as a surprise.
“The first thing that went through my head was how am I going to get this home on the plane,” William laughed.
“I’m very honoured to be shown such respect from my fellow workers...[My staff] were excited.
“I always encourage every team member to have a can-do attitude and ensure that they are going an extra mile to help our customers, as well as their fellow colleagues.
“It’s good for the staff as well because we all earned it.”H
His store manager, Jessica Lovemore, said she was “pretty proud” of her boss.
“He doesn’t get recognised too often for all the extra work he does,” she said.
William is also proud to give back to the community in which he operates and has generously donated pizzas to local State Emergency Services during times of natural disaster.
“I’m most proud to have built a successful business that invests in the local community, and for that I thank our loyal customers – we want to impress them every day,” he said.
William said the Parkes community has been very welcoming since the store opened in June last year.
“I’ve been very happy with the response from the people of Parkes and I’m very happy to support the community too,” he said.
