The state titles were held in Dubbo from March 11 to 12. More than 100 players from all over the state and ACT attended the two-day event, vying for silver ranking points in the lead up to the NSW Age Championships.
The State Age Championships will this year be held in Thornleigh in July, where the NSW Blue Tongue teams will be announced for the Australian Teams event in Geelong in September.
Parkes’ best performer was Marley O’Shannessy, who proudly competed in the Under 13 Girls division.
Marley took out the event, winning her second silver event for the year.
This comes after a successful campaign in Wyong last month.
Marley beat Rylstone’s Jess Reynolds 3-0.
Also in the Under 13 division was newcomer Cooper Huppatz.
Cooper played impressively to finish third, along with Hana Kim who came fifth.
In the Under 11s Henry Kross came runner-up in the final against NSW number 1 Jordan Ghattas from Wyong.
Parkes was well represented in the Under 17s events.
Bronte O’Shannessy and Kacey Nightingale finished third in their pools.
While Liam Pope came in second in the 17Bs, and Chester Kelly just missing a finals spot, finishing third.
Western Region selections will soon be announced from this event, with Parkes hosting the tournament in June.
