Recommending the council provide the assistance, Corporate Services Director Les Finn said the festival, which is now in its sixth year, has "proven to be a very successful event, attracting national medial attention, increased attendance each year and a positive impact on the Trundle community and businesses".
Organisers have plans for a train to attend this year's event with carriages coming from Sydney before a stay in Forbes on their way to Trundle.
This year's ABBA Festival will be held on Saturday, May 6.
"Considering the Elvis Festival in its fifth year had about 500 people and ABBA in its fifth year had about 5000 people come it gives you an indication that its a bit of a phenomenom in itself," Parkes mayor Ken Keith said.
"It says a lot for lycra," Cr Bill Jayet joked.
Mr Finn said the ABBA Festival committee believes this year's event will attract up to 7000 people to the town of less than 600.
"All accommodation in Trundle is booked out with camping being offered at the showground and racecourse," Mr Finn said.
One of the highlights of this year's festival will be a world record attempt for the most people dancing to "Dancing Queen".
The Kransky Sisters will return again and international ABBA cover band Bjorn Again will also perform.
The ABBA Festival program also includes markets, the Parkes Shire Concert Band, Bathurst Panorama Chorus, wedding vow renewals, singing and dancing competitions.
