The Prime Suspects hit the water

On the weekend of March 11 and 12 the team from Prime Suspect travelled down to Robinvale to ski on the Murray River in the Robinvale 80 ski race classic.

First race on the Saturday morning was social classes.

Parkes youngsters Conor and Lisa Nutley skied the 80km course in 50 minutes and four seconds with Brian and Jamie Nutley in the boat.

Afternoon racing saw former Parkes man Kris Knights, who is now living in Cowa, skiing behind Merc Force compete in the superclass shootout for positions for Sunday’s big race.

Merc Force came flying over the finish line after completing the dash short course in a record breaking time of 4 minutes and 44 seconds which put them in first place for the race on Sunday.

After the superclass shootout it was time for the Tadpoles U10s skiers to test their skills on the dash course.

Jack Nutley came across the line in 5th place with a time of 10.04.

It was a family team effort with Jamie Nutley (dad) and Brian Nutley (grandfather) in the boat.

Sunday racing saw Merc Force first away, but unfortunately they had boat issues and they did not make it much further than half way on the first leg.

Kane Nutley and Riley Merchant (Sydney) finished first in the U13s lites class with a time of 44:08 for the 80km race.

Lisa Nutley skied in the restricted 70mph class with Wagga boat Kidz Boat, they finished 8th in a time of 45.53.

This weekend the NSW state titles will be held at Wyangala Dam near Cowra.

Good luck to all competitors.
