A 47-year-old man has been charged for assaulting a hotel staff member after he asked a female patron to buy him a drink.

The man attended the Broadway Hotel in Clarinda Street about 2.30pm on Wednesday, February 22 and requested an unknown female buy him a drink.
The woman declined the request and staff asked him to leave the premises.
The man walked towards the front door where he allegedly punched the victim in the face.
The victim and other staff tried to restrain the male but he allegedly punched the victim again a number of times.
The man allegedly grabbed the victim by the shoulders, but the victim managed to break free and push him away.
A bystander is believed to have taken hold of the man and taken him to the back of the premises, where he left through the rear exit.
Police were called to the location and a description of the alleged offender was given.
Later that day police attended a Parkes address, arresting the man and conveying him to Parkes Police Station.
The man was charged and will appear in Parkes Local Court on April 21.

Unknown persons have gained entry through the front door of the Parkes Baptist Church sometime between 5.30pm Saturday and 7.20am Sunday.
According to reports, there appeared to be nothing taken but there was some slight damage to a number of doors inside the premises.
Local police are interested in gathering more information on the matter and are urging anyone with details to call them on 6862 9999.

A 25-year-old Parkes man has been charged with driving with mid range PCA when he was stopped for a random breath test at 1am on Sunday.
Police stopped the man in Clarinda Street where he failed the breath test and was taken to Parkes Police Station for a breath analysis.
He returned a reading of 0.090.
The man’s driver’s licence was suspended and he will appear in Parkes Local Court on April 21.

Police are still yet to determine if anything was stolen from an Essential Energy depot in Parkes on the weekend.
The site’s security guard attended the premises at 4am on Saturday and returned at 8.20pm that night to find the front door open.
Essential Energy personnel haven’t been able to determine if any items were taken and there will be a further police investigation into the incident.

Police believe there was an attempted break and enter at a Parkes business in Clarinda Street between 5pm Friday and 8.20am on Saturday.
Unknown persons have attempted to open the sliding doors to the building and the store’s owners discovered broken glass.
Police say it doesn’t appear the offenders gained entry to the business.

Parkes Police were called to the Cambridge Hotel during the early hours of Saturday following reports of an assault.
A 25-year-old male was accused of pushing a number of witnesses and other female patrons.
The man had run from the location by the time police arrived.
Police will be following up the incident by interviewing victims and obtaining CCTV footage, in an attempt to speak with the male in relation to the allegation.
