A small group of Bogan Gate residents who have moved to Sydney are making sure this isn’t the case.
On the first Sunday in February each year a group of Bogan Gate residents meet in the Botantical Gardens in Sydney to catch up and share their memories of growing up in the country.
The reunions were started 64 years ago by Sandy McKeowen, Jack McKeowen and Ted Naughton as an opportunity to catch up with friends from Bogan Gate who were living in Sydney.
In 1998 the group raised money to put a memorial seat in the gardens in memory of the reunions and to ensure they had a focal point for their yearly gatherings.
This year was a special memorial for the group’s dearly departed Bill Rawson who never missed the event.
Rebecca baked a special cake in memory of Bill for this year’s gathering.
