Representative Cricket
Parkes teams go down at Dubbo. The Parkes under 14 and under 12 Representative teams travelled to Dubbo to play the Dubbo Blue teams on Sunday, February 19 in the final round of the 2016/17 Lachlan Cricket Council inter-town competitions. Dubbo Blue emerged triumphant in both games.
Under 14s: The Parkes under 14s rued missing a catch from outstanding Dubbo Blue batsman Tom Coady early in his innings before Tom went on to score 120 runs. Dubbo Blue 185 (Tom Coady 120, Zac Williams 26, Jackson Keely 2/29 off 3 overs, Miki Dunn 1/37 off 7 overs) defeated Parkes 105 (Tynan Matthews 19, Jackson Keely 19, Ryan Dunn 18, Hayden McCormack 11, Campbell Watts 2/6 off 4 overs, Joe Yeo 2/9 off 3 overs, Paddy Nelson 2/22 off 5 overs). Dubbo Blue won by 80 runs
Under 12s: The Parkes under 12 team, missing some important team members, put in a gallant effort to go down to Dubbo Blue. Some lapses in ground fielding did not assist the Parkes team.
Parkes 9/84 in 32 overs (Jack Milne 19, Maddy Spence 12 n.o, Ryan Dunford 12, Blake Smith 3/9 off 4 overs, Rory Madden 2/7 off 4 overs, Lachie Rummans 1/6 off 3 overs) lost to Dubbo Blue 6/86 in 24 overs (Rory Madden 27, Harrison Quinn 21, Anthony Atlee 19, Jack Milne 4/30 off 7 overs, Harry Jones 1/16 off 5 overs, Hunter Hawke 1/19 off 5 overs, Maddy Spence 0/7 off 4 overs) Dubbo Blue won by 4 wickets.
Batting first Parkes lost early order wickets before Ryan Dunford, Jack Milne and Maddy Spence batted defiantly to boost the Parkes score. In reply Dubbo Blue batsmen Harrison Quinn, Rory Madden and Anthony Atlee did well to pass the Parkes score.
Jack Milne demonstrated promise of a bright future in his cricket career by backing up his good batting to take 4/30 off 7 overs with his leg spinners. Maddy Spence once again bowled economically to take 0/7 off 4 overs.
