The Parkes Harness Racing Club staged its first of two meetings last week to raise money and awareness of ovarian cancer.
According to club representative Tony Dumesny, the night was very successful with four female reinswomen driving winners out of the night’s eight races.
For each of those wins, the club donated $400 to the Women’s Cancer Foundation. Dumesny said the same will apply for next Wednesday night’s race meeting.
The club will also be asking for gold coin donations from the public to help this wonderful cause.
Drivers Kasey Hocking, McKayler Barnes, Amanda Turnbull – who won three races (2, 3, 5), Angela Hedges – who won Race 7, Ashlee Grives, Jess Prior and Monique Parsons (pictured from left to right) wore teal pants for the cause last week.
“These drivers are among the leading in NSW and will be in action again next Wednesday night,” Dumesny said.
