The diversion via Narromine has been lifted.
Emergency services have left the scene and there are no delays for motorists in the area.
12.21pm: A woman has died in a vehicle accident on the Newell Highway near Tomingley.
The accident, 1.5 kilometres north of the Belworie Road turn off, was a collision between a car and a cement truck. The accident happened at 9.50am.
The woman, the occupant of the car, died at the scene.
EARLIER: The Newell Highway is closed in both directions near Belowrie Road in Tomingley due to a truck and car crash.
Northbound motorists are being diverted via Tomingley Road to Narromine and then on to the Mitchell Highway to Dubbo.
Southbound motorists are being diverted on to the Mitchell Highway in Dubbo and then on to Tomingley Road in Narromine to rejoin the Newell Highway.
This diversion is suitable for all vehicles.
Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and exercise caution.
