Ten benches have been built and painted and are ready to deliver to primary schools in Parkes, Forbes and Peak Hill this term.
They will be installed one at a time into each school with a representative from the business or company who donated them invited along for a photo.
CWASNAG (Central West Autism & Special Needs Awareness Group) organised with Anthony Whitney (Whitney’s Welding and Bobcat Hire) to build the benches after he built and donated one to the Parkes Christian School’s Sensory Garden last year.
With the help of Jodie Goonrey from John Holland, all 10 benches were purchased by local businesses for donation to the Project.
Bunnings in Forbes donated the paint and paintbrushes as well as some of their staff to help John Holland staff and members of CWASNAG paint the benches.
John Holland staff will install the benches into the schools.
