A young driver has walked away unscathed after he crashed into three parked cars before his vehicle rolled onto its side on a suburban street in Sydney's west.

The 21-year-old man is believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel just before the crash occurred on Shepherd Street at Colyton about 6.20am on Wednesday.
Residents awoke to loud bangs, and rushed outside to find four wrecked cars and the driver still sitting in his overturned Toyota Camry.

They helped the man from the car. Remarkably, he was not seriously injured, and no other people were involved in the crash.
A NSW Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics assessed the man, but he did not need to be taken to hospital.
Nine News spoke to the driver, who reportedly said that he had fallen asleep at the wheel before crashing.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said the driver exchanged details with the owners of the damaged vehicles.
