They have put together emergency packs containing essentials including a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, soap and other personal items to distribute throughout the Lachlan Local Area Command.
Crime Prevention Officer Senior Constable Daniel Greef said often victims of domestic violence come to police with nothing but the clothes they are wearing.
“Thanks to Quota at least we can give them something to make them feel a little bit better,” he said.
Quota purchases the items to put in the packs with funds they have raised and club members make the drawstring bags.
Parkes Quota Club President Raelene Rout said the whole concept came from Constable Greef speaking at one of their meetings.
“He identified a real need for it, so we decided to help” she said.
“The first lot we made up were used in the first 24 – 48 hours, unfortunately there is a real demand for them.”
