Reverend Steven Gaut (Parkes Baptist Church) said it all came together really well on the night.
“It was the biggest crowd we’ve had in a while,” he said.
“We don’t know if that was because the weather was really great – it wasn’t too hot, and there were no dust storms or rain to keep people away as in previous years.
“To me it had a really good community feel.”
The Ministers Association has been involved with the event for many years.
“One of the blessings in town is our churches work really well together,” Reverend Gaut said.
“The Ministers Association has a great relationship with council which makes it much easier to put on events like Carols and the Elvis Gospel Service.”
The large crowd enjoyed all their favourite carols performed by the Parkes Shire Concert Band, school choirs, acapella singing group Tapestry, and individual artists.
