Due to an increased risk of bush and grass fires the NSW Rural Fire Service has declared a Total Fire Ban for the Lower Central Western Plains and Eastern Riverina Weather Districts for Thursday, December 8.

The NSW RFS is advising anyone in the following areas wishing to undertake harvesting operations on this day to consult their Grain Harvesting Guide before and during harvesting.
The total fire ban issued covers the following council areas:
Lower Central Western Plains
Bland, Dubbo, Forbes, Wellington, Lachlan, Narromine, Parkes, Temora and Weddin
Eastern Riverina
Albury, Coolamon, Greater Hume, Junee, Lockhart and Wagga Wagga
All permits in these areas are suspended, meaning that no fire is to be introduced while the Total Fire Ban is in place.
People are required to extinguish any existing fires and are to regularly check the fire in case of re-ignition.
Not doing this may put yourself and others at risk and will result in heavy fines.
Anyone who sees an unattended fire is urged to call 000 immediately or for more information on current fire activity please call the NSW RFS Bush Fire Information Line on 1800 679 737.
Residents are also urged to take the time to discuss with their family or colleagues what to do in the event of a fire.
