Hannah has made a positive return to the court this year and is part of Parkes performance squad training on Wednesdays.
Even though the young leftie tried to get into the match changing her tactics, approaching the net, mixing up her serves – it was the guile and experience once again of Helen that prevailed and she was successful in taking another singles title.
Jake Magill successfully defended his singles title with a patchy performance against Julian Fyfe.
Julian has been a real asset to the club since arriving some 12 months ago from Sydney.
Julian thoroughly enjoys his tennis and found himself up for an enormous challenge as he took on the young gun.
Jake had to work for his points once Julian got into some rhythm but always looked to be in control.
Abbey Kennedy was chuffed to finally have her name stenciled on the championship board for the first time when she out-rallied off-court friend and on-court foe Holly McColl in the final of the B Grade ladies.
Holly is smacking the ball this past term and found a new power game, but has yet worked out how to use this added strength more successfully.
Holly made too many unforced errors and Abbey controlled the points well to take the win.
Finals day for the 2016 Club Championships in the doubles and mixed doubles matches will be played this Sunday from 9am.
