Marcia Scally, Rachel Job, Siobhan O'Brien, Clodagh O'Brien, Amanda Draper and India Draper will head to Veolia Arena in Goulburn on Friday until Sunday.
The local side will play in Division 2 in pool B, taking on Illawarra South Coast 3 at 3.30pm Friday before facing Sydney South Saturday morning at 10.30am.
At 1.50pm Saturday Parkes will play Orange and that night at 6pm will meet with Southern Highlands 1.
The semi finals and finals will be played on the Sunday.
”We are looking forward to it, despite most not playing in the local competition, as we don’t meet the age criteria,” player Marcia Scally said.
“We're too old,” she laughed.
“The local competition is just for juniors. This team is more to open the doors for the juniors coming through in future years as we have so many talented players in Parkes and exposure in these competitions is what we need.”
Unfortunately due to limited court access and working schedules, Scally said the team hasn’t been able to prepare for the state titles as much as they’d like to.
“I am confident though that we will perform well as we have all played indoor before and have some knowledge of the game,” she said.
“Our main goal is to play good hockey and have fun.
“Hockey NSW has put us in Division 2 instead of 3 so it will be a hard competition.
“We certainly have the skill to do well and I'm sure that we will come away with some wins.”
Scally said her main goal is to continue to provide opportunities for local players to play indoor at an elite level.
“We have already had some junior players make shadows for the state teams and I feel that in future years we will have several more kids selected in state teams,” she said.
