Back to Trundle: The Anglican Parish Church of Trundle is not only diverse because of its geographic make up encompassing Bogan Gate, Trundle, Fifield, Tullamore and Albert, it is also very special because Church Services are still conducted at all these centres on a regular basis, Alleluia praise the lord!

We celebrated these facts by having a back to Trundle Parish last Sunday. Fifty plus people assembled for the celebration service at 10.30am including regulars from all centres, passed Parishioners, Father Brian’s family members, some of Brian’s beloved friends from Parkes and even a guest organist from the Uniting Church in Parkes, thank you James Whalan.
The service itself was amazing led by a Crucifier, our sub-Decon of the table for the day Mr Ted Mortimer, followed by all the parishes licensed lay ministers and of course Father Brian, what an occasion! The church looked a picture with a mass of fresh flowers and lit candles everywhere you looked. Being that day where we used the scriptural text, “Let the little children come unto me, and do not stop them”.
Brian had displayed in front of the altar a very large tapestry of Jesus blessing the children that had been done by the late Judith Ann Schmalkuche, a prized possession of Father Brian’s. The surprises kept coming with a special “kids talk” after the reading of the gospel as Daniel and Katie Crowley and Trixie Gowing joined Brian for a story and a colour picture hand out. Wonderful worship, thank you.
All then congregated for a BBQ lunch at the Rectory. A great time of fellowship and catch up was enjoyed by all. Brian would want me to add our thanks to the beautiful men from the Trundle Men’s Shed for cooking the BBQ.

Wedding Bells: On October 15 in All Saints Anglican Church Albert the marriage of Matthew Duff and Elizabeth Jarvis was conducted by Trundle Parish Priest Father Brian Schmalkuche.
An amazing occasion for this tiny vibrant village. A real fairytale wedding, from Elizabeth and her Dad Alan arriving in a horse drawn buggy with the bride’s attendants arriving in a horse drawn trailer to two beautiful flower girls Kate and Kirralee Brown scattering rose petals along the Bride’s path to the alter. Father Brian thanked Matt and Liz for choosing All Saints for the occasion and for chasing him to officiate. He then welcomed family and friends saying how obvious it was that all guests really wanted to be there to celebrate Matt and Liz’s wedding, there is nothing quite so moving as a christian wedding.
The scriptures were beautifully read by Kris McCowen and Stacy Jarvis and as always Father Brian didn’t miss an opportunity to open the word to a full to capacity church where surprise surprise his homily was entitled “The Way of Love”.
While this beautiful wedding will go down in the history of the Albert Church and the Trundle Anglican Parish it is interesting to report that it is 22 years since the last wedding was conducted in All Saints Anglican Church Albert.
On the 18th December 1994 Philip Harris married Betty Jane Hillam. It is hoped it won’t be that long again before the next wedding is held in All Saints Albert.
I sincerely want to congratulate Elizabeth our local young woman and Matthew for bringing their wedding to Albert, it will be a talking point for a very long time
