Good win to Parkes under 12s against Condobolin.
The idyllic setting of Keast Park 2 proved to be the sight of a well contested inter-town game between Parkes and Condobolin at under 12 level on Sunday, October 23.
The very young Parkes team played with plenty of spirit to record a solid 5 wicket victory over their keen Condobolin counterparts.
The scores were:
Condobolin 10/65 in 26 overs (Toby Harding 20, Riley Keen 19, Harry Jones 4/11 off 6 overs, Jack Milne 2/5 off 3 overs, Henry Johns 1/8 off 2 overs, Ryan Dunford 0/5 off 3 overs, Hunter Hawke 0/11 off 7 overs) lost to Parkes 5/66 in 23 overs (Hunter Hawke 34 n.o, Harry Jones 8, Jake Ticehurst 2/17 off 7 overs, Robert Stuckey 1/12 off 5 overs, Ryan Goodsell 1/16 off 3 overs).
Splendid line and length bowling by the majority of the Parkes bowlers.
This backed up by some well executed run outs by the Parkes team contributed to the downfall of the Condobolin batting line up.
Harry Jones returned the excellent figures of 4/11 off 6 overs while Jack Milne chimed in to take 2/5 off 3 overs.
Jake Dunn did exceptionally well to record a direct hit run out from some 25 metres to dismiss key Condobolin batsman Ryan Goodsell, while Ryan Dunford and Hunter Hawke also helped secure run outs.
Smart catches were taken by Jack Skinner, Henry Johns, Maddy Spence and Hunter Hawke.
Condobolins Toby Harding (20) and Riley Keen (19) batted with plenty of resolve.
In reply Hunter Hawke (34 n.o. with 2 fours) demonstrated that he is an improved batsman as he concentrated hard against accurate Condobolin bowling to guide the team to victory.
Players from both teams deserve credit for the good spirit in which the game was played.

Congratulations to Parkes Public School Boys Cricket Team.
On Monday, October 24 Parkes Public Schools Boys cricket team scored a resounding nine wicket victory over Dubbo Public School in the Semi Final of Western Schools Sports Association 2016 PSSA Knockout.
Parkes P.S. will now play in the Final for 2016.
The Parkes P.S. team never gave Dubbo P.S. a chance as they produced a high class level of accurate bowling and fielding to dismiss Dubbo for only 35 runs in 21 overs.
Outstanding catches were taken by Hunter Hawke while Joseph Tanswell (3/3), Harry Jones, Wilson Duffy and Ryan Dunford all bowled splendidly.
Parkes P.S. took only eight overs to score the necessary runs for victory.
The match was played in excellent conditions at Keast 2 and was umpired by local Parkes umpires Warwick Wheeldon and Greg Morrissey.
