Maddy is an enthusiastic and ever-improving young cricketer catching the eyes of the Western PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) selectors.
Recent trials were held in Dubbo on September 1, Maddy could not attend those trials due to being in Sydney.
She was able to trial by herself against a few boys in Narromine the week before where they recorded her skills. The Western PSSA Girls Cricket team will take part in the NSW PSSA Girls Cricket Carnival at Hawkesbury from October 31 to November 3.
Maddy has been playing cricket in the Parkes and District Junior Cricket Association competitions for the past three years.
Maddy has received plenty of encouragement to develop her skills and enthusiasm for cricket from her father Justin and mother Kerry who is an ever present scorer and supporter of teams at both Junior and Senior levels in Parkes.
Kerry is the joint publicity officer as well as the registrar and website operator for Parkes Junior Cricket.
Maddy is a Year 4 pupil who attends Middleton Public School. Being one of the younger members of the Western PSSA Girls Cricket team suggests Maddy may well have a promising future cricket career ahead of her.
If Maddy can follow in the footsteps of a previous Western PSSA/CHS Girls Cricketer and former Middleton Public School student in Keeghan Tucker she will be a most worthy player.
Harry Bayliss was selected in the Western PSSA Boys Cricket team for third consecutive year
A Year 6 student at Parkes East Public School, Harry is the youngest son of well-known Parkes couple Graeme and Tanya Bayliss. The NSW PSSA Boys Cricket Carnival is in the Sutherland (Sydney East) area from November 21 to 24.
In 2015 Harrison was honoured to be named captain of the Western PSSA team. Jordan Moran is looking forward to seeing Harrison further demonstrate his cricketing skills at the 2016 Carnival.
During the winter months of 2016 Harrison has been attending special training/skills sessions for players selected in the Western Zone Cricket Academy.
P.D.J.C.A. wishes both every success.
