Parkes SSAA Smallbore rifle news
Last weekend saw nine shooters attend the Deep Lead Shooting complex and shoot at ordinary targets at both 25 and 50m for a maximum of 500 points. This match was shot under a very strong northerly wind which blew in rye grass pollen which caused hay fever for some shooters.
Target Rifles - Brian Drabsch 250 - 248 - 498, Wally Rudenko - 250 - 243 - 493.
Field Rifles - Ron Cunningham - 250 - 247 - 497, John Davis - 248 - 238 - 486, John Smeaton - 248 - 232 - 480 and 4 shot for practice only.
Most people had trouble with the strong wind moving the bullet at least 1.5 inches at 50m but after adjustments most handled it as it was at constant velocity. Our next shoot is at 10am October 23 and will be buffalo targets at both ranges. At the end of next month all attendance will be sent into the state branch of SSAA and any person who does not have their four shoots up for target or two for hunting they will be sent out warning letters of just how many they have up, if any. Please write clearly and press hard so the computer can read your attendance, if you can’t read it you don’t get an attendance.

What a brilliant start to the season! We welcomed lots of new players who are new to the sport. I would like to thank all the parents who helped out on the day and to those who helped out behind the scenes. Your efforts and support are greatly appreciated.
A huge congratulations to the u15 Boys and Girls sides who have just competed at the State Championships on the Central Coast. Both teams performed exceptionally well and have both managed to return with some bling! A big thanks to the coaches, managers and parents who contributed to the team’s success. Draw October 23. A Grade will receive their shirts on the day.
