NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) Mid Lachlan Valley Team presented Long Service Medals to 33 volunteers who have amassed an impressive 1210 years of service between them.
The awards were presented by NSW RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons, Parkes Deputy Mayor Barbara Newton and Orange Candidate Scott Barrett.
The volunteers were joined by fellow brigade members, family and friends.
Superintendent Ken Neville said their significant commitment demonstrates that the tradition of volunteering is thriving in this region.
“Each of these men and women provide a vital service to their community, whether they’re fighting bush fires, attending road accidents or assisting during storms or floods,” he said.
“It is an honour to present these awards and reflect upon the outstanding achievements of these members.”
