The Reconciliation group comes under the umbrella of the NSW Reconciliation Council and has been established to capture the goodwill in the community at this historic time.

There is an increasing awareness of Australia’s history and the Australian government has acknowledged the pain caused by past actions.

The Lachlan Reconciliation group aims to act as a focus for organizing and supporting events and initiatives that:

- bring non-Indigenous and Indigenous people together

- increase awareness and understanding of Indigenous culture, knowledge and history

- enhance the Indigenous identity of the Parkes and Forbes region

The Lachlan Reconciliation group is interested in working with other groups in the area to foster these aims.

They would like you to keep them in mind if they can be of assistance to you.

They would also like to invite interested members of local organisations to join the reconciliation group.

The group meets monthly at 6pm on Fridays alternating between Parkes and Forbes meeting places.
