Deputy Premier Troy Grant confirmed the premier’s visit at a press conference at the Forbes SES Unit on Sunday.
The Minister for Emergency Services David Elliot is also expected to be in Forbes on Monday.
Mr Grant pledged government support for residents affected by the flood, although didn't specify what type of support would be made available.
“We have well-established disaster support that the Commonwealth and state play a role in providing," he said.
“That will be lead I suspect by a recovery coordinator, so I’ve spoken to the minister already to make sure that we appoint that recovery coordinator as soon as possible already knowing that there will be a significant period of time that people will need support.
“We will do all those assessments with our government departments, with the local land services and DPI, be on ground to support the community here, counselling support and other business support as well as money to go into local council to get the infrastructure back up to standard will be a key focus in the recovery.
“We have people who have lost their crops, who harvest around November.
“Being in September, that’s a whole crop failure and it will be a whole season again until they’re able to recover financially and economically,” Mr Grant said.
Mr Grant was accompanied to Forbes by by-election candidate Scott Barrett.
Details of Mike Baird’s visit to Forbes are yet to be confirmed.
