Prospective university students from Parkes have until September 30 to apply for university study

Potential undergraduate students from Parkes have until midnight on Friday, September 30 to complete an on-time application for university study through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).

UAC handles tertiary applications for 33 participating institutions, mainly in NSW and the ACT, offering more than 2000 courses.

Applications for tertiary study in first semester 2017 can still be submitted online at until Friday, February 10, 2017, but applicants will face increased charges after September 30.

There are also a number of courses with early closing dates, including popular medical and music courses.

So far 37,793 people have applied through UAC.

Most people will find out if their application is successful in the Main Round of offers, released online by UAC on Wednesday, January 18.

In 2016, UAC made nearly 44 per cent of offers in the Main Round.
