A new committee has been appointed for the Friends of the Parkes Hospital at its annual general meeting held at the Parkes Hospital on July 28.

The positions are: president Donna Payne, vice president Jan Latter, secretary Kim Horan, treasurer Lyn Griffith and publicity officer Pauline Gosper.
A subcommittee was also formed at the Friends of the Parkes Hospital Committee AGM, which will organise fundraising activities – Colleen Staples, Carmel Smith, Gail Rosewarn, Jill Coles, Alison Howlett and Pauline Gosper.
Since the commencement of fundraising, Friends of the Parkes Hospital Committee have donated gumboots to assist staff showering patients, toiletry bags for emergency purposes and a patient lifter called Romedic Quick Move.
Romedic Quick Move supports patients when rising to a standing or sitting position during transfers from one place to another, encouraging them to do so independently.
On September 2, the committee will be holding a cake stall, including a Father’s Day raffle in the entrance of the Parkes Hospital.
There are three great prizes donated by Parkes Cellars, Col Fletcher and Betta Electrical. Any donations of cakes would be gratefully accepted. Friends of the Parkes Hospital Committee meetings continue to be held every fourth Thursday at the Parkes Hospital.
