The Spacemen succumbed 28/14 to Nyngan in the elimination match to exit the competition on a disappointing note.
While Nyngan scored five tries to three and were marginally the better side, Parkes had plenty of chances to claim the spoils.
Indeed the Spacemen led 4/0 in the third minute and then levelled at 10/10.
With star junior Joey Dwyer igniting the attack the Spacemen had tries disallowed early in the second half, compounded by turnovers early in the tackle count.
Two converted tries within six minutes edged Nyngan to comparative safety at 22/10 before winger Jordan McDougall dived over in the corner nine minutes from full time.
Prop Simon Bartley’s third try in the 56th minute however put the issue beyond doubt.
Fullback Darcy James was again prominent to complete a stellar season while Matt Clarke, Joe Dwyer and evergreen Billy Joe Francis were also tireless.
Nyngan 28 (S. Bartley 3, S. Cadrakilagi, B. Toole tries , M. Sheather 4 goals) def Parkes 14 (J. McDougal, M. Clarke, J. Bowd tries, BJ Francis goal) at Spooner Oval Forbes, Referee Greg Phillips.
