Under 10s: The Derrick Hoe Excavation PMJRL Under 10s played a spirited Canowindra outfit on Saturday, with the weather less than favourable. Parkes won the toss and decided to let Canowindra kick off.
The forwards through Joe Monk and Josh Bowd flexed a bit of muscle to put Parkes on the front foot. Canowindra didn’t shy away from the battle, though. Toby Cox and Oliver Thomas consistently moved up in defence all game.
Sam Duffy on the flank and Marley Moran in the centres confused Canowindra's defence whenever they ran the ball. Marley copped a vicious head high but to his credit got back up and ran straight back into them again.
Jack Milne took notice of how Canowindra's speedster was scoring all his tries and gave it back to them scoring two great tries. Zac Payseno also scored a great individual try. He scooted from dummy half and through three defenders to slam the ball over the line.
Final Score Parkes 30 Canowindra 18. Tries to Jack Milne (2), Josh Bowd, Oliver Thomas, Zac Payseno. Conversions to Marley Moran, Bob McKewen, Toby Cox, Aiden Byrnes and Jack Milne.

After a kick on the fifth tackle gave Canowindra possession, Parkes were determined to keep them down their end with strong tackles from Bayden Moran, Toby Miller and Jye Facchi. A penalty gave Canowindra six again so defence continued with Malakai Folau, Jai Thompson and Wilson Duffy.
