NSW Police are reviewing footage that allegedly shows former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer yelling obscenities at his estranged wife and making violent threats against her and her family.

The footage, which aired on A Current Affair on Monday night, showed Mr Mehajer sitting in a car and shouting furiously into what appears to be a mobile phone camera.
"Aysha, you've got five minutes to give me a call," Mr Mehajer says, purportedly to his estranged wife Aysha Learmonth.
"If you don't call me in five minutes, I'm going to rape your mum, your mum and your f---ing dad. Call me now".
In a second video, Mr Mehajer - who has temporarily stopped screaming - says: "Aysha, I hope you die you slut," before saying in subtitled Arabic: "I swear on the Koran, I swear on God."
He continues in English: "I'm not leaving today."
"And I hope you die you f---ing slut. You f---ing f---ed 12 guys you slut," he says, bringing his face closer to the camera as he says "You f---ing slut" repeatedly.
A NSW Police spokeswoman said officers from the Sydney City Local Area Command on Tuesday had contacted A Current Affair, which provided police with a copy of the footage.
In a statement to Fairfax Media, Mr Mehajer said he believed someone had betrayed his wife.
"Aysha is a beautiful, warm, amazing individual, whom I believe was betrayed, or set-up by someone who supplied A Current Affair with these out of context videos to make a sensationalised story," he said.
In July, an interim Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) that forbade Mr Mehajer from intimidating, harassing or stalking his estranged wife was approved by a judge in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court.
It is not known if the footage aired by A Current Affair is related to this AVO.
In a report that went for almost 15 minutes on Monday night, reporter Alison Piotrowski said the videos - which were broadcast repeatedly - show "the real Salim Mehajer: abusive, controlling, terrifying".
The program said it obtained the videos from a concerned friend of Aysha, who wanted everyone to know "the type of man Salim really is".
According to A Current Affair, the videos were "apparently sent" after Aysha moved out of the couple's Auburn home to live with a relative and refused to speak to Mr Mehajer.
Following the videos being aired, Piotrowski had a short studio interview with the show's host Tracy Grimshaw.
"If NSW Police would like to take a look at these videos we'd be more than happy to hand them over," Piotrowski said.
In a statement to rival network Channel Seven before the program was broadcast, Mr Mehajer said the video was just "an individual yelling into their personal phone camera".
"It's not real news," he said.
Mr Mehajer's Facebook page was deluged with hundreds of comments on Monday night which referenced the screaming videos.
Initially he deleted several posts, before appearing to delete his entire profile at around 9pm. His Instagram account was also set to private.
The footage of Mr Mehajer in the car resembles a short scene in a motivational video, entitled Dream - Motivational Video, which Mr Mehajer released on the weekend.
The video was published on Mr Mehajer's Facebook page and featured stirring music, a rousing narration, plenty of slow motion and stock footage, and the word "dream" over and over again.
