Spacecats made ground early ahead of the Dubbo Westside Rabbitohs. Top strides and hard work from Samantha Cox and Ella-J Harris saw Parkes within 20m of the tryline, allowing winger Brittney Ryan to open the tally.
The safe hands of Sarah McAneney allowed Parkes more control of the ball and strong dodging and stepping of Ella-J and Demi helped them stride through the Westside’s defense.
Emma Bayley added another four points in the far corner and another Westside kick to the sideline had Demi Winter put the pedal to the metal and pass the posts for Parkes’ third try.
Emma Bayley was able to score her second try with 4 minutes remaining until half time, with scores at Parkes 16, Westside 0.
A Spacecat error at the beginning of the second half left Westside 15 out from their line.
Parkes’ ladies had to defend hard as Westside came within inches of scoring. But Parkes turned up the heat to push their opponents back to where they started, keeping the Bunnies scoreless.
Sally Dwyer and Demi Winter continued to work hard, making great tags. A Westside kick made too big had Emma Bayley off for a great run.
Sam Cox found the line to taked Parkes to 20.
Defending well when required, the Spacecats didn’t allow Westside any moments of joy with points at the final siren Parkes 20, Westside 0.
Parkes head to Narromine on Sunday for Round 12 to take on the Narromine Jets.
Parkes Spacemen and the league tag team would like to thank all of their sponsors, including major sponsor the Parkes Services Club.
