All four grades of the Parkes Spacemen/Spacecats wore black arms bands as a mark of respect at the passing of Toni Day.
The Spacecats took to Jock Colley Field minus captain Hannah Kelly, goal kicker Claire Barber and winger Shannealle Wyrzynski.
Parkes made great ground in the opening minutes after Macquarie kicked off to start the game.
Errors were prevalent from both teams in the first quarter, with the Spacecats shaking it off before Macquarie could overcome the pressure that Parkes where to apply.
Sarah McAneney with the ball, strode down the sideline to make the metres, before Ella J Harris ran through Macquarie’s defense to off load to Sally Dwyer.
Dwyer ran, chipped and chased to start the Spacecat’s tally on the scoreboard.
Ella J was successful with the conversion.
After a set from Parkes, Macquarie had with possession and worked hard to tag with no ground made or very little.
On the last a deep kick was taken well by Katie Caldwell who ran hard, passing wide through quick hands to Sarah to run it in close to the posts.
The succcessful conversion made it 2 from 2 from Ella J.
A few more errors crept into both sides.
With quick tags, Spacecats had possession and wanted to complete the set with more points, which came to fruition after quick passes all over the field through safe hands.
They carried the ball over the try line and 3 from 3, Ella J took the score to Parkes 18, Macquarie 0.
Louise McAneney took a great ball after the kick start running hard dodging the defence to be tripped and lose the ball.
Macquarie was hungry for points, but Parkes applying pressure caused a knock on as the half time hooter sounded.
Spacecats started the second half wanting to leave Macquarie scoreless and the determination showed with a great chase and tag by Emeline Lavaka where the ball was caught deep into the half.
Macquarie put a wild pass over the sideline and Parkes were on the attack with Brittany Dumesny running hard and Sarah over for her second.
Spacecats player Sally was bear hugged so Macquarie could make a tag.
On the last a double knock on Parkes with it and the ball passed out to winger Emeline to go over in the corner.
A short kick from Macquarie Sarah takes it on the sideline.
Good hands on the far side from Katie to Sam to work the ball from the far side to winger Emeline to go over for her second.
Parkes now 30 Macquarie 0.
Codie took a high kick on the last to run the ball followed up by Shayna Male with a strong run before Demi made a striding dash to be tagged shy of the line.
Spacecats were in their faces so Macquarie couldn’t get out of their half.
With a kick on the last Demi gathered and ran 50metres after dodging the defence to be in under the uprights and Ella J added another two points.
Macquarie the had the ball on half way and another deep kick saw Katie all over it, running hard with a chip and chase but a Macquarie girl had it covered.
In the last minutes Parkes had the ball and coach Mick Dumesny wanted another.
The ladies didn't disappoint with quick hands and controlled passes a great run came from Shayna to offload to Sami Afele to run it in for another try.
Ella J again successfully converts taking the final score to Spacecats 42 Macquarie 0.
After round 10, 1 point separates first and second.
Cyms are on top of the ladder on 19 and Spacecats 18.
Spacecats have scored 388 points and had 48 scored against them playing all rounds.
Cyms have not played two rounds and have scored 256 and had 42 scored against them.
