The survey was carried out by Stollznow Research and will be used to help build the visitor profile for marketing and promotion of future festivals as well as providing feedback on local business involvement and benefits.
Key findings from the report indicated that of the visitors to this year’s festival, 58 per cent were females and 42 per cent males.
54 per cent of visitors fall into the age group of 55 years or older, with 32 per cent aged 25-44.
However, the emergence of the 18-25 year old bracket was evident with 12 per cent of visitors fitting the profile in 2016 - a five per cent jump in 2015 figures.
The survey also indicated that a third of the visitors are retired, while 60 per cent work either full or part-time or are self employed.
The majority of visitors (76 per cent) came from within NSW with 28 per cent of those from the Sydney or Greater Sydney regions including the Central Coast, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Blue Mountains.
This year, there were visitors from every state and territory, with Queenslanders the most prominent (nine per cent) followed by Victoria and the ACT.
Another strong aspect was the repeat visitation numbers that indicated 40 per cent of visitors had attended one or more festivals with the average being four times.
The average length of stay per person was 3.3 nights.
Key motivations for attending the Festival remain the music and entertainment, being fans of Elvis, and the social interaction.
96 per cent of Festival attendees indicated they are very likely to attend again in the future.
