Winning two rinks, Parkes finished on top on the master voard 59/58.
They now head to Ettalong to play in the State playoffs.
The draw for the No 2s is as follows:
Saturday, July 30 - Parkes vs the winner of Zone 12 at 9am; Parkes vs the winner of Zone 6 at approximately 1pm.
Sunday, July 31 - Parkes vs the winner of Zone 5 at 9am.
Semi-finals will be played on the Sunday afternoon with the winner of Section 1 v winner Section 2, and winner of Section 3 v winner Section 4.
The final will be on Monday, August 1, at 9am.
The No 5 side was at Narromine in a round robin playoff.
They had a draw and a loss in their first two games and meet Manildra in the third match.
As Manildra can not be beaten for the Zone flag, but Parkes are hoping to bring them back to earth in the deciding round.
Also Molong who won their Zone 3 play offs and will be coming to Parkes this Sunday for a trial match against the No 2s starting at 12pm.
All the No 2s players are asked to keep Sunday free as it will be a great trial for them.
SOCIAL BOWLS
No bowls were held on Thursday due to the rain.
Last Saturday, six hardy souls had a game of Triples that went to 17 ends.
Jim Blake, Les Kent and Gary McPhee had a good win over Bob Freeman, John Dunn and Steve Mills 17/10.
CLUB
CHAMPIONSHIPS
One game of Major Singles and one game of Minor Pairs were played last week.
In the Major Singles, John Hodge with his magic arm was too good for Tom Casey, winning 31/14.
In the Minor Pairs, Jim Blake and Joe Crowley were too good for Jim Watson and Les Kent 17/9.
